Overture
The album Somewhere In This Room begins with an orchestral Overture that encompasses two of the album's signature songs. We felt that one of the album's strengths was in its powerful melodic content so we wanted to showcase this by beginning and ending with orchestral tracks.
Here is the actual footage of the recording session for the string overdubs to Bill Pursell's piano and rhythm track recorded earlier that day. The recording was made at Westlake Studios in West Los Angeles and features Ken Yerke on solo violin with Bill Pursell conducting from his original score based on Andrew Bonime's composition.
